Curing Period & Inspection

We have just had the privilege of protecting your vehicle and we would like to pass along to you a few tips for easy care and maintenance:

Curing Periods

Window Tint

Window Films can take anywhere from 1 day, up to 4 weeks, to completely cure. This can be due to the type of film and atmospheric temperature/ humidity/ conditions.

During this curing period, application solutions will go through some settling and evaporation processes. Films can sometimes appear hazy/bubbly/cloudy. It is a natural part of the curing process. It is important not to touch the films during curing periods. Some small variations in the materials can also clear up over time. Minor imperfections are unavoidable, however, do not have an impact on the performance of the products. If there is anything you are unsure of after this period, please feel free to contact us so we can help with any queries.

Paint Protection Film

PPF has a curing period, just like Window Tint, and can be due to the type of film as well as atmospheric temperature/ humidity/conditions, but can take up to 4 weeks to cure.

Ceramic Coatings

Ceramic Coatings can take up to 48 hours to dry, and 2-3 weeks to cure, and as above, will be dependent on the type and brand of coating, as well as atmospheric temperature/ humidity/ conditions.

We will always prefer to keep a vehicle that has been ceramic coated overnight, to allow the curing process to begin to take place in a controlled environment. It is important to allow this overnight curing process to keep the manufacturer’s warranty.

Inspections

Window Tint

Inspections are not generally required for Window Tint, however, if you’d like us to have a look at the tint after 3-4 weeks (to allow the curing process to take place), then we would be happy to have a look for you. It’s also nice to see our customers again!

Paint Protection Film

We offer all of our PPF customers a complimentary inspection after a month or so of driving. As you drive the car the panels bend, flex, twist and rub, and occasionally this can have an impact on the film and how it adheres to the edges of the panels. Particularly when we install a Bespoke wrap, the movement of the panels when the vehicle is being driven can cause ‘pinching’ of the film. There are also some areas of a vehicle where the curves are extensive, and we ask the film to do something very unnatural. These areas may occasionally find that the film just can’t handle what we ask of it. At the inspection, we will inspect all of the edges and curves and make sure that they are all sitting as they should, and that the film has cured correctly. We will attend to any situation that has presented itself. If you are happy with the film and how it is sitting, you don’t need to make an appointment for an inspection, but you are welcome to if you’d like us to double-check. It’s always nice to see our customers again, and get some feedback as to how the film is holding up.

We will need the car for about half a day. Please call to make a time that suits you and your schedule.

Ceramic Coatings

Ceramic Coatings require a check up every 12 months to keep the manufacturer’s warranty. At this check up, your vehicle will be washed, decontaminated, and the coating performance inspected. This inspection incurs a charge, which can be viewed in our Packages page.

For all of our installations, if you have any concerns that you would like to discuss or you would like us to look at, please call or email us. Situations are usually easily explained, or solutions quick and easy to implement.
